The short-toed snake eagle, is a medium-sized bird of prey in the family Accipitridae, also known as short-toed eagle. Each year they travel to Africa to spend the winter. Female short-toed snake eagle is comparitively larger than the male. It requires trees for nesting and open habitats, such as cultivations and grasslands for foraging.

The website oiseaux-birds has some more information regarding Adult short-toed eagle: "Adult short-toed eagle has brown upperparts and white underparts, with dark brown head and upper breast. The head is brown and rounded. The hooked bill is relatively small and blackish with pale grey cere. Eyes are golden yellow. Legs and feet are dark greys. The long bare legs are covered with scales to protect the bird against the snake venom. The juvenile resembles the adult but it is usually paler with pale chestnut head and upper breast. On the underwing, the dark wing bars are paler."
