Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is not a serious condition, later it can easily lead to sexually transmitted diseases and urinary tract infections. The study suggests, it is better to treat it as soon as the BV symptoms appear.

Studies shows that, Oral sex can cause bacterial vaginosis (B-V) in some women. It is not a sexually transmitted disease or infection, but a change in the balance of bacteria commonly found in the vagina. The study, led by researchers from the University of California, was published in the health journal Plus Biology.
These diseases can be transmitted to anyone through oral sex with someone who has a sexually transmitted disease. When a person inserts his or her mouth, tongue, and lips into another person's genitals or anus is called Oral sex.
STIs can be transmitted to a person through oral sex. It can affect many parts of the body, including the mouth, throat, genitals and anus.
The following is a list of diseases that can be transmitted from one person to another through oral sex.
- Chlamydia: chlamydia is a sexually transmitted diseases caused by the microorganism Chlamydia trachomatis.
- Syphilis: syphilis disease can be spread via sexual activity, caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum.
- Human papilloma virus (HPV): Human papilloma virus is the most common sexually transmitted infection, causes warts in the genitals or surrounding body parts.
- Bacterial Vaginosis: Bacterial Vaginosis affect women of childbearing age, there may be abnormal vaginal discharge, itching or odour. Unprotected sexual intercourse or frequent douching can increase a person's risk.
- Herpes: herpes is caused by the herpes simplex virus. There are two types, oral herpes and genital herpes, which is usually sexually transmitted.
- Trichomoniasis: Trichomoniasis is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections. Risk factors include multiple sexual partners and not using condoms during sex.
- Hepatitis A: Hepatitis A, sexually transmitted infection (STI) passed on through unprotected sexual activities, particularly anal sex. It can also be affected when a person eats or drinks contaminated food and water.
- Hepatitis B: Hepatitis B virus is transmitted through blood and body fluids especially through anal sex. can also get it from contaminated needles and syringes. It's also commonly passed on from a mother to her baby during birth.
- HIV (Aids): HIV or Aids virus can be transmitted through contact with infected blood, semen or vaginal fluids, by having unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sex or by mother to baby by pregnancy, labour or nursing.
