Mutant Coronavirus: India Extends UK Flight Ban Till January 7
The Government of India on Wednesday extended the suspension of flights to and from the United Kingdom till January 7 due to the fear of the new highly contagious UK variant of SARS-CoV-2. India had earlier banned UK flights on December 23 till the 31st.
"Decision has been taken to extend the temporary suspension of flights to and from the UK till 7 January 2021. Thereafter strictly regulated resumption will take place for which details will be announced shortly," - aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted.
Twenty people who travelled from Britain to India have tested positive for the new Mutant Coronavirus.
