It is a heartbreaking scene to see these birds drop dead on the road and at the railway station. The animal rights group has blamed the massacre of birds on New Year's Eve.
The reason behind the mass death of these birds is still unknown. But animal rights activists say the firecrackers exploded as part of New Year's celebrations, causing mass death of birds.
Loredana Diglio, an animal rights activist, said the birds may have been killed by Frightened by the loud sound of firecrackers, they may collide or hit a power line while flying.
"Let's not forget they can also die of heart attacks," said Loredana Diglio.
Explosions of loud firecrackers are often dangerous to animals and birds. The OIPA called for a ban on the sale and exploding of fireworks.
