The actor was reportedly critical, a 100 per cent blockage in the LAD (left anterior descending artery) vessel. The medical bulletin said to the NDTV, that "he was critical on ECMO support, which pumps and oxygenates blood outside the body", but died at 4:35 am today.
In 2009, the Government of India awarded Vivek the Padma Shri award for his contribution to the arts, received several awards for his performances, and he appeared in more than 200 films.
According to NDTV, The 59-year-old was reportedly critical in a Chennai hospital after a cardiac arrest on Thursday morning. He was brought in unconscious at 11 am, was resuscitated, subsequently underwent coronary angiogram and then angioplasty. Medical bulletin said he was critical on ECMO support, which pumps and oxygenates blood outside the body, but died at 4:35 am today.
Vivek had a 100 percent blockage in the LAD (left anterior descending artery) vessel and reportedly underwent an angioplasty and stenting procedure for the same. However, he passed away at 4:35 am on Saturday. - Firstpost reported.
