Wednesday, the business giant Jeff Bezos owned Amazon acquired Hollywood's most famous studio MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) for $8.45 billion. This addition to Amazon will boost up its Prime video streaming service library with up to 4000 films as well as 17,000 television shows including the James Bond franchise, The Handmaid's Tale, and Legally Blonde.
"It's very exciting and provides so many opportunities for high-quality storytelling," Mike Hopkins, senior vice president of Prime Video and Amazon Studios said about the deal to NDTV.
The producers behind James Bond have said, however, that the sale would not affect the upcoming release of No Time to Die in cinemas, according to Variety magazine.
