Indian business man and Indian film producer MM Ramachandran, popularly known as Atlas Ramachandran, the chairman of Atlas Jewellery has died at the age of 80.

Mr. Ramachandran was admitted to a hospital in Dubai with age-related illness and reportedly died of a cardiac arrest Sunday night.
Ramachandran show was born in 1942 in Kerala's Thrissur district has became popular through a distinctive style of advertising for his business, Atlas Jewellery. Ramachandran used to feature in the advertisements and deliver a line: Atlas Jewellery, the trusted name of crores of people (à´…à´±്à´±്ലസ് à´œൂവലറി ജനകോà´Ÿിà´•à´³ുà´Ÿെ à´µിà´¶്വസ്à´¤ à´¸്à´¥ാപനം) "Janakodikalude Vishwastha Sthapanam" in his own narration.
Ramachandran started his career as bank employee before entering into business. He was also passionate about movies. Popular Malayalam movies Vaishali and Sukrutham were produced by Ramachandran.
He had produced and distributed films under the banner "Chandrakanth Films". He also acted in over a dozen movies including Youth Festival, Anandabhairavi, Arabikkatha, Malabar Wedding, 2 Harihar Nagar etc.
Ramachandran was arrested in 2015 for a financial fraud case and was released in 2018 after a 3 year imprisonment in Dubai.
