Malayalam movie Jallikattu was selected for Best International Feature Film category. Bhonsle, Chhalaang, Eeb Allay Ooo!, Check Post, The Disciple, Shakuntala Devi, Shikara, Gunjan Saxena, Bulbbul, Kaamyaab, The Sky is Pink, Chhapaak, AK vs AK, Gulabo Sitabo, Chintu ka Birthday, Bittersweet, Atkan Chatkan, and Serious Men are the other movies from India for the Oscars 2021.
Jallikattu is a Malayalam movie based on short story "Maoist" by S Hareesh, Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, starring Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad and Santhy Balachandran.

The movie was premiered in Toronto International Film Festival held from 5 to 15 September 2019, and 24th Busan International Film Festival, held from October 3 to October 12, 2019, at the Busan Cinema Center in Busan, South Korea.
Jose Pellissery, director of Jallikattu won the Best Director award at the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), and at the 50th Kerala State Film Awards, the movie has won two more awards for best director and best sound mixing
Jallikattu, which is was a big hit in the film festival circuit as well. The movie had its world premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, following which it was also screened at the 24th Busan International Film Festival. Jallikattu director Lijo Jose Pellissery won Best Director award at the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Jallikattu also bagged two awards, best director and best sound mixing, at the 50th Kerala State Film Awards earlier this year.
