A foreign woman, the native of the UK, has died of suicide by jumping from the top of Amritanandamayi Math in Kollam. The incident took place at 8.30 pm at the Amruthanandamayi Math, Karunagappally Vallikkeezhu. Police and ashram officials says that, the woman was mentally ill.

A foreign woman, the native of the UK, has died of suicide by jumping from the top of Amritanandamayi Math in Kollam. The incident took place at 8.30 pm at the Amruthanandamayi Math, Karunagappally Vallikkeezhu. Police and ashram officials says that, the woman was mentally ill. Stephead Ziona, the foreigner women, was arrived in Kerala this February, with the lockdown following COVID-19, the woman were reportedly depressed and unable to return home.
The woman had attempted suicide this afternoon. At first, the woman tried to drown herself in the lake. However, the police reached the spot and stopped her from committing suicide, the death has occurred on her second attempt. When Stephead Ziona tried to commit suicide for the second time, everyone was in bhajan (prayer). Stephead Ziona commits suicide by jumping from the 7th floor of the Math. The body of a UK resident is being kept at Taluk Hospital.
