Churuli: tries to rub the line between mind and society in a utopia. Churuli means Labyrinth or Spiral. Which is also tries to tell the endless time. The storytelling transcends the traditional Malayalam films. The characters, dialogues, and the climax are also gone beyond the expectations, breaking the rules. The Director of Churuli is known for his experiments in filmmaking. His previous film Jallikkettu was an example of this. Angamaly Diaries, Amen, EeMaYau, etc also recognized for the style of making and storytelling. Lijo Jose Pellissery is the director. S. Hareesh writes the screenplay and story by Vinoy Thomas. Churuli is a new attempt that goes beyond cultural expectations too. Also speaks the mind of humans. His films try to portray the man as some 'self glorified animals' and nothing more. Jallikkettu also has this element. The characters in the movie Churuli speak the language of people who lives away from modern dramatic life, which also goes beyond parliamentary expectations. We can also see the “world as a stage and all as artists”. Here in Pellissery’s movie this drama vanishes and another one evolves. The characters move to the core of the mind and speak their minds without drama. But it’s not an attempt to show the animalistic life, but a situation in an imaginary world.

By crossing a fragile wooden bridge in the beginning part, the characters immediately shift to their real selves, by shedding the masks. Becoming more aggressive and open, in a way. Protagonists were stunned by this sudden change too. This shift can be read as the signal for showing the entering into the utopia.

Afterward, the movie speaks the mind without the barriers of cultural constructions. It also tries to tell that the polished language and gestures are just the drama of culture. But human is more animalistic and will take out that real character concealed within, when the time comes or when the environment supports for that.

Here the guests who came from the outer world were the representatives of the moral implementation wing of the society. They become one of the group by entering the new world. They also start thinking about, is it needed to go back to the other unreal world? Here again the question of which is real-world arises. Also, the utopia is redefined, it defines the need of the majority in a society. Which in a way tries to satisfy the animalistic needs within humans. There the crimes in cultural society allowed within this imaginary world.

We can see that the movie tells the unending story of time in an applied way. The Churuli and the roads shown in the movie sometimes resemble the current understanding of galaxies. The images used in the movie lead viewer's thoughts to relate it with the unending story of the universe itself. The extreme magical moments in the climax also strengthen this argument. The lines were written regarding the lord of time also stand with this.

In a way, we can see that the movie also tries to share the concepts of 'meaning of life' and the ambiguity related to it. Does it end at all? Is it a continuation? The possibility of life on other planets. The god concepts try to explain endlessness. The movie goes through different layers. These layers can see with the frames, the eyes blinking gestures, background music, imaginations, etc. It demands a close and engaged watching to know different dimensions. And this may become wide with the understandings and world view of the audience also, like subjective element's role in understanding every piece of art.
